The strategic partnership, which does not include any type of corporate integration, aims to bring together their respective skills in the field of coffee packaging.

IMA and Goglio, leading Italian multinationals in the packaging solutions sector, have entered a strategic partnership aimed at converging competences and know-how for the supply of the widest range of processing and packaging solutions for the coffee industry with a strong and mutual focus on the research and development of new generation packaging materials.

The two world leaders combine Italian excellence to bring the utmost innovation into the coffee sector with a high growth potential. Given the strength of both companies’ networks, the whole economy stands to gain from their collaboration. Goglio and IMA have an internationally well-known leadership in the field of packaging, and namely in the coffee sector.

In recent years, the two companies have frequently combined their strengths to meet the requirements of the world’s leading coffee roasters: by integrating their respective skills, they can offer the best technology worldwide for coffee packaging lines, from beans reception to end of line equipment matching all the most demanding process, packaging and service requirements.

The agreement announced today – which does not envisage any kind of merger between the companies or their respective divisions, either present or future – consolidates this collaboration. It is a strategic-commercial partnership aimed at bringing together their respective competences in the coffee packaging sector.

IMA stands out today, with its dedicated COFFEE HUB, as a one-stop supplier delivering comprehensive technology from beans reception to end of line equipment matching all the most demanding process, packaging and service requirements.

The Goglio Group designs, develops and manufactures complete packaging systems, providing flexible materials for all packaging requirements. Innovation, service and quality are characteristics that have always distinguished Goglio, which has a strong specialization in the coffee sector and counts among its clients many of the main coffee roasters in the world.

“We need strong partnerships if we want to strengthen our presence on the market. By joining our efforts, we are offering added value not only for customers but also for partners, and suppliers” explain Klaus Peters, IMA Food Sector director, and Davide Jarach, Strategic Development Officer Goglio Group.

At the core of this partnership is the common quest for sustainability, a priority mission shared by IMA and GOGLIO and especially focused on the mutual need to research and develop sustainable materials that can be handled on their packaging solutions.

“IMA is glad to offer OpenLab support, the Group’s network of technological laboratories and testing area, to accelerate on this priority mission. With IMA Open Lab we research, test and develop alternative processes and materials together with our partners and suppliers encouraging sustainable, compostable or biodegradable packaging solutions” says Klaus Peters.

“Our commitment to research and development is a key element for Goglio, which for years has been at the forefront of pioneering new packaging technologies and sustainable materials that enable greater efficiency and lower environmental impact” concludes Davide Jarach.
