To ensure efficient and safe operations in a food distribution center, A-Safe has designed and installed pedestrian protection solutions from moving vehicles.

A major American customer was looking for a solution that would protect both pedestrians and the facility against vehicle traffic at its North American distribution center.

They wanted to ensure the site was a safe place for both streams of traffic to navigate from one side of the facility to the other. Safety is ensured by iFlex Traffic barriers, with handrails to define and protect pedestrian walkways against heavy vehicle impacts, supported by a bespoke ground level barrier to safeguard the building against repeated impacts over time.

Engineered using Memaplex, the barriers are purpose-designed to provide workplace protection.  On impact the iFlex barriers absorb kinetic energy, dissipating it through the barriers to minimise damage to the floor before flexing back to their original shape.
