Mondi Group partnered with ACMI, Italian manufacturer of palletising machines, and with the Italian distributor Ecowrap, to create a new wrapping pallet wrapping system that uses paper instead of plastic.

By transforming the way pallets are wrapped, Advantage StretchWrap reduces the need for plastic throughout the entire supply chain, moving to a renewable and fully recyclable material. This paper (patent-pending) is able to stretch and resist punctures, providing robust protection for goods during transport.

The current industry standard for pallet wrapping is represented by a multi-layer plastic material with low recycling rates. While this paper, along with Acmi’s Rocket E-500 pallet wrapping system, allows switch to a totally sustainable wrapping solution. The paper’s stretchability and high tensile strength make it a reliable alternative for transport.

Acceleration tests to simulate transport with ESTL equipment (performed according to EUMOS 40509 standards), and real-life transportation trials confirmed that pallets wrapped with this paper are safe. The material is responsibly sourced from renewable materials in Scandinavia.
