Food processing industry requires components that ensure product safety. For this reason, PNEUMAX uses safe materials such as stainless steel, brass and polymers.
Industry’s propensity for automation and digitization is constantly increasing, but the centrality of human beings must be affirmed to safeguard the work ethic. And for Pneumax, a Bergamo-based company resting on the solid foundations of over forty years of experience, humans certainly are in the center. A virtuous circle that also involves the environment and the territory, with the creation of a photovoltaic park that mitigates the environmental impact and the strict observance of noise and pollution limits imposed by law.
The company’s structure has all the resources needed to design and manufacture its own products, which include technological solutions for all industrial areas: valves, solenoid valves, fieldbus systems, cylinders, micro-cylinders, components for compressed air treatment, fittings and many other special customer-specific solutions. The desire to develop products for the food & beverage processing industries that require dedicated materials such as stainless steel, has led Pneumax to create a wide range of components that are heterogeneous in size and performance.
Automatic couplings for multiple food fluids
To ensure the safe passage of food fluids, PNEUMAX offers FCM couplings, which stands for Food Contact material. These components are designed to guarantee reliability and comply with the main international regulations governing the sector: The European Regulations 1935/2004 and 2023/2006 and 831/2018 (Moca), the Italian Ministry Decree 174/2004, the United States 169/NSF. The FCM series is manufactured by Titan Engineering, a company of the PNEUMAX Group, born as a production site and central warehouse for all fittings.
To guarantee food & beverage customers the suitability of the fittings, Titan makes available the results of the numerous tests carried out, accompanied by a photographic documentation that acts as a “certification of suitability”. The testing programme covers the most used fluids in the food industry, such as drinking water, wine, beer and carbonated beverages, as well as other liquids are available to customers who need tests tailored to their application needs.
Functional tests are carried out with a dedicated machine: APC060519TE, developed in co-operation with companies experienced in “food contact”, and built using only components suitable for contact with food and drinking liquids. Automatic Food-Contact couplings are made entirely in Italy and meet the requirements of pneumatic applied to packaging machines, baggers, bottlers, fillers, and dispensers.
Valves and solenoid valves for harsh environments
To guarantee maximum reliability even in harsh environments, the Pneumax range of components for the shut-off and handling of liquid and gaseous fluids (pneumatic valves with inclined seating, piston and diaphragm solenoid valves, buffer valves, direct-operated shutter solenoid valves) uses selected materials for the valve bodies (brass, stainless steel), internal components (stainless steel) and seals (FPM, PTFE, EPDM). The F300 series includes a vast range of solenoid valves in brass and stainless steel designed to control air, water, steam and all fluids that are compatible with the materials used for bodies and seals.
2- or 3-way solenoid valves can be normally closed, normally open, direct acting or servo-assisted, suitable for working pressures ranging from vacuum to 100 bar. The versions with coils feature explosion protection case. Among the valves with inclined seating, with AISI 316 or 304 stainless steel body, the PVF series is also suitable for use with backpressure for gaseous fluids. Resistant to ambient corrosion, they have high flowrate and can be mounted in all positions. They are complete with optical position indicator and self-adjusting maintenance-free stuffer seals package. The self-levelling poppet ensures improved sealing.
