Infestations from insects, larvae and their eggs pose a significant challenge in the food industry during storage and subsequent processing of raw materials such as pulses, cereals or grains.

With Sanicrop+ technology, Stalam offers an alternative to traditional methods of disinfestation and sanitisation methods by embracing a non-chemical methodology. Thanks to the electromagnetic field generated by a pair of electrodes, this technology enables rapid and uniform heating of a wide range of dry agricultural commodities, in particular weeds, ensuring selective culling and ensuring the wholesomeness of the product.

The process is up to ten times faster (treatment times from 3 to 10 min) than conventional methods, ensuring complete disinfection or sanitisation. Radio frequency technology best preserves product characteristics, so that a healthy and safe product can be obtained without using chemical treatments. The technology stands out for its energy efficiency and environmental friendliness: approximately 25 kWh are required to disinfest about one ton of product.
