Mingazzini is an international reference point in the field of steam boilers for industrial use and offers quality products supported by a consultancy that accompanies customers at every stage of the process. The Parma-based company bears witness to tradition, thanks to its almost centenary experience, but also to continuous innovation thanks to the ability to always provide state-of-the-art solutions.

Still exclusively family-run, Mingazzini maintains the values handed down from generation to generation up to the fourth, which already operates in the company. Ugo Mingazzini, current Vice-President of the board of Directors and belonging to the third generation, told us about the soul of the company and its commitment to the future.

What are the distinctive features that make Mingazzini a reference brand in the food industry?

First, engineering expertise, combined with the regulatory skills that are now essential to operate internationally. Our knowledge of the world market is also important, because today we need to know how to build “tailor-made” plants just like a dress of high tailoring, with expertise and experience.

Agility also characterizes us, because we know that the needs of our customers must be met in a timely manner, in a rapidly evolving market. The modern food industry is facing a very competitive international scenario, and our boilers are precisely the solution for achieving high-quality production. Thanks to their advanced technologies and automated functions, they can ensure fast and efficient production that meets food safety standards.

Which industries benefit most from your plants?

Our clientèle is now “transversal” and belongs to all the most diverse sectors that use steam (80% of production companies use steam in their processes). All companies looking for the latest technologies that can guarantee energy savings, emission reduction and maximum efficiency benefit from our achievements.

Mingazzini does not stop even in the face of the most demanding requirements, and among the most demanding areas stands out the food & beverage, where our plants are ideal in processing meat, fish, vegetables, dairy products, bread and bakery products, spirits, wine, beer, soft drinks, water. It should be stressed that food is our sector of origin, given the geographical area in which we started operating at the beginning of the last century.

Is energy saving an important asset for companies?

Very important, and Mingazzini understands, helping customers reduce energy costs to free up valuable savings to invest on more strategic fronts is a key competitive factor. Our experience allows us to investigate individual issues and evaluate the different actions that can be taken. This preliminary study results in the design of plants able to ensure a significant reduction in consumption by optimizing the operation of steam boilers.

Further savings are achieved by placing steam boilers in a network and centralizing all plants, making it possible to constantly monitor systems, performance, consumption and levels. This allows remote control of the steam boilers, adjusting each plant according to the production flows and the required daily performance, reducing wastes and heat dissipation. In addition to energy savings, combining the new Low NOx burners with the large combustion chambers of our boilers allows to obtain NOx and CO values that comply with strictest air emission limits.

Can you give us an example of an energy-saving boiler?

There are many examples, including PB EU series boilers, capable of achieving rated pressures of 22 bar; on request this limit can also be exceeded. Depending on the number of working hours and the type of fuel used, Mingazzini can supply these plants with energy recovery systems dedicated to the boiler only, for yields up to 97.5%. Even higher results can be obtained with exclusive recovery systems tailored to the customer, maximising the condensation of boiler fumes to recover as much as possible of contained latent heat, with yields up to 99%.

What is your commitment to the future, to both new and existing customers?

Our commitment to the future is also what has always characterized us: Increase the confidence in our products, use of the best technological solutions and guarantee of safety, quality, seriousness and service. This is a commitment we maintain by continuously improving our products to achieve ever higher performances and by working to reduce thermal loss through the inclusion of energy recovery devices.

Proof of our commitment are the many certifications obtained, constantly renewed over the years, as the certification of the Quality System conformity according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 standards since 2001 and certified by LRQA Italy. Since 2002, our Quality System has obtained the Certificate of Conformity based on the Total Quality Assurance with Design Control in accordance with Module H1 of the PED Directive, now Directive 2014/68/EU. In addition to this, there are the certifications for marketing and commissioning almost all over the world.
