Magnoni, an LM-Group brand, launched a new product addressed to multinational beverage companies: The integrated system for laser marking on empty cans. The new version improves the performance of the previous one thanks to the installation of an additional control “station”.
The system receives the cans accumulated in a single lane which begins to flow on a vacuum belt. Suction takes place from below through a system that provides stability to the cans along their path and while they go through the first control station, where the inside and the mouth of the cans are monitored.
After this step, the cans are then taken over by the next conveying system, where the suction comes from above, so that the cans can be laser-marked on the bottom. Each control phase has its own encoder-controlled reject system. The row proceeds on the next belt, where suction takes place again from below to ensure stability, until the cans reach the next production phase.
The system can process 90,000 cans per hour, 30,000 more than the previous version. The two control “stations” and the two related groups for handling non-compliant cans, perfectly separate the two control phases, one dedicated to the integrity of the can and the other one focused on the marking phase. Safety is ensured by side doors that prevent tampering and protect from the laser. As for the software, the machine is compatible with any model of industrial vision system.
