The handling of glass containers involves the risk of their fall and breakage during the manual cutting and removal of the shrink-film wrapped around pallets. The film cutting module from Bortolin Kemo, suitable for standard depalletizers, eliminates the need of manual cutting and removal of the protection film and/or hood. This solution has been tested for over a year in several industrial plants: it has shown great reliability and flexibility in handling different types of pallets, shrink-films and containers. The system is based on the idea of transferring every single layer from the pallet onto the extraction table, keeping the layer wrapped. Once the layer is safely onto the extraction table, the portion of shrink-film wrapping it is cut and removed. The operation is performed in total safety, and guarantees the integrity of both transferred layer and layers remaining on the pallet.
