Sacmi Packaging challenges the sector of “self standing pouches”, with its new self-standing pouches for beverages differing from traditional pouches as they stand up alone and do not need to be contained in a box. Thanks to an agreement with Swedish firm Quadpak, the Italian company offers continuously-linked “webbed” self-standing pouches allowing for a fully automated machine infeed. This system offers major advantages, the biggest being the total absence of manual tasks during loading, filling and unloading. For the company, these containers are adding considerable value to an already comprehensive plant range that, based on a single technological platform (bag-in-box filling machines characterised by solutions that ensure efficient, totally ultra-clean filling control) allow manufacturers handle traditional webbed bags, self-standing single pouches and, lastly, the new self-standing webbed pouches. The ability to handle all pouch types on the same platform lets manufacturers carry out fully automated production, at no additional cost, of both small decorated lots and large-scale batches.
